Code of Conduct and Discipline for Students

  1. The school aims at providing holistic education to its students with special emphasis on teaching to them think intensively and critically while ensuring the development of a strong character. The school shall strive to motivate its pupils to attain excellence in all their endeavors.
  2. Parents are requested to cooperate with the school by keeping a check on their ward’s progress. For the maximum benefit of the child it is necessary to have a smooth parent-teacher communication for which it is advisable that the parents check the School Dairy of their wards daily.
  3. The Student’s Almanac should be brought to school every day. It must have a current passport size photograph. The student’s profile should be duly filled and signed by parents.
  4. All students are to reach school by 8:30 am.
  5. It is important to attend class on the opening day after every vacation. Absence will entail fine unless valid reasons are furnished in writing duly signed by parents.
  6. It is compulsory for student to complete 80% of the attendance in the academic session to make them eligible to appear for the session ending assessments. Relaxation will be given for leave only on medical grounds and on official school leave.
  7. Parents should fill up the “Leave Record” column in the Dairy for each day the student is absent from school, stating the reason for absence.
  8. For leave of absence for more than three days citing medical grounds, a letter and a Medical certificate must be sent. A copy of the certificate is to be submitted and signed in the school clinic for the follow up. In case your child is unwell and not fit enough for class assignment/project/assessment, a note attached with the medical certificate should be sent for follow up.
  9. Repeated absence, without leave application or unexplained absence for more than five consecutive days renders the student liable to have his/her name struck off the rolls. Re-admission may be granted only on payment of the re-admission fee.
  10. No student should leave the class room without the class “Out Pass”.
  11. No valuables like jewel, mobile phones, cameras, iPod, iPad, mp3, any electronic gadgets etc are to be brought to school. The school is not responsible for articles or money lost. If any valuable is found with any student it would be confiscated.
  12. Students must not damage the property of the school. Any kind of damage or disfiguring of the school property would have to be remedied or compensated by the offender.
  13. The school reserves the right to dismiss a student on grounds of indiscipline, misconduct, or any such activity that is considered to be harmful to the general tone of the school.
  14. A student, who uses unfair means during tests and assessments, will be disqualified in that particular subject and this might hamper his/her promotion to the next class.
  15. Parents should not send their wards to school if they are sick.It should be strictly noted that children suffering from highly communicable diseases Measles or Chicken Pox or Small Pox are not allowed to attend school untill completely cured. Students will not be allowed to leave school for dental medical appointments during school hours.
  16. Any change in address or telephone number of the parent or local guardian should be immediately notified to the Class Teacher and the Admission Department through an application.
  17. Student will not be allowed go home during school hours until there is an emergency for which the Head of the Wing may be approached for permission. A gate pass will be issued from the Head of the Wing. The gate pass must be handed over at the gate at the time of leaving.
  18. Parents must purchase the school uniform from the shop authorized by the school,the details is given in one of the following pages.
  19. An identity card will be issued to the student which is to be worn every day. In case of a loss, a duplicate card will be issued at a cost of two hundred rupee.
  20. The school has installed a security system to ensure the safety of the premises and the children. It is mandatory for all the parents and guardians to keep the ID Pass along with them for the security purpose. Students would be handed over to the parents or guardians only in presence of the ID Pass with them.
  21. School will remain shut for Nursery to KG on all Saturdays and for classes I to IX on  third Saturday.

 

Basic Etiquette/Courtesies

 

  • A good behavior is the hallmark of a good education. So every student is expected to conduct himself/herself in a manner that reflects favourably on the School and its insistence on the highest standards of good manners. Student are expected to wish all staff and visitors the time of the day, keep hands out of their pocket and be courteous in their interaction with others.
  • Students must maintain a learning environment in the classroom which implies that decorum and discipline are to be maintained.

School Uniform

  1. All the students must dress up properly in school uniform on every working day. Students must be in proper uniform if they visit the school after the school hours, during Parents-Teacher Meetings or on holidays.
  2. No shoes of any other type, except the ones specified, will be allowed to be worn in the school.
  3. Wearing students’ ID card is mandatory for all students.
  4. Girls are not allowed to wear fancy earrings, lipstick, kajal, nail colour or eyeliner to school. They should clip or tie their hair neatly according to the length of their hair. Only black hair bands, crunches and black clips to be worn.
  5. Both girls and boys should have short nails.
  6. Boys should sport only crew cuts. No spikes/ streaks, fad or engraved hair styles are permitted. Boys are not permitted to grow beards under any circumstances. If found otherwise, the school reserve the right to take action.

SCHOOL TRANSPORT:

  1. The school provides transport facilities to the students.
  2. The bus routes/ stops/ timings have been worked out to minimize commuting time and hence request for additional stops or change of route will not be entertained.
  3. Temporary change of bus routes will not be permitted under any circumstances.
  4. In case a change in residence, parents are required to fill up the fresh transport form.
  5. The parents must contact the school transport manager for enquiries regarding transportation.
  6. The transport facility may be discontinued only after filling up a form for the same. However,therewill be no refund or adjustment of the quarterly transport fee already paid.

           

BUS RULES:

  1. Parents are requested not to enter the school buses to see off and receive their ward.
  2. Parents should not try to overtake and stop the school bus to facilitate the boarding of their wards as this endangers the safety of the bus and its occupants. This act will lead to a strict disciplinary action.
  3. Parents should not argue with the teachers present in the bus or the handyman or the driver. If there is any problem, a written complaints to the Office should be given.
  4. Under no circumstances, should pupils touch the instrument panel of the buses.
  5. Under no circumstance pupils are allowed to go behind or under the parked buses within the school campus. Pupils are also not allowed to sit in the parked buses during school hour.
  6. A pupil travelling in the school bus is expected to be at the bus stop at least 10 minute before the scheduled arrival of the bus. The pupil has to be on the correct side of the arriving bus. The school reserves the right to alter the timings, routes and stoppages as and when necessary.
  7. If any parents whose child is availing school transport service wishes to take their ward privately in his/her own transport, then he/she has to collect the permission slip from the Principal/Headmistress one hour before the end of the last class.
  8. Pupils are allowed to use only the allotted bus and bus stop. No change shall be allowed without prior permission of the Director/CEO/Principal.
  9. If a pupil misses his/her allotted bus he/she should not try to board any other bus. It is the responsibility of the parents to drop off their wards to the school. However the pupil will return by the allotted bus.
  10. The school will not be held responsible for any lapses in the bus services. In case of any discrepancies, parents may meet the Director/CEO/Principal.
  11. The buses will not wait for latecomers.
  12. Pupils should stay away from the main road until the bus arrives.
  13. No pupils should come near the entry door of the bus until it comes to a complete halt. The front door of the bus is the only authorized entrance and exit.
  14. Boarding and alighting from the buses should be done in silence and in an orderly manner.
  15. No pupil should travel standing on the footboard.
  16. Pupil must not move around in the bus when it is in motion.
  17. Pupil must not put any part of their body outside the bus, they should not put their hands out even for waving.
  18. No object should be discarded inside or thrown outside the bus.
  19. Consumption of edibles is strictly prohibited in the buses.
  20. Unruly behaviour like shrieking, shouting and playing foul is strictly prohibited. Courteous behaviour is expected at all time.
  21. The driver’s attention must not be distracted for any reason.
  22. The drivers are authorized to stop the buses at the designated bus stops only. The list of the bus stops is prepared keeping in view the convenience and safety of all bus commuters and is always subject to change.
  23. In case of any change, of a temporary or permanent nature, in transport pick up/drop point or transport route, the permission for the same has to be sought by making an application to the Principal. 
  24. Parents have to ensure that their wards do not go to and come from the bus stop unescorted.
  25. The monthly transport service charges for the scheduled route (s) will be as per notification. Fees will be charged for all 12 months. If anyone withdraws the transport facilities in between the academic year, the entire fee shall be charged in full.
  26. Fee for two months shall be paid at time of Registration every year.
  27. Any damage incurred in the bus by the pupil travelling shall be repaired or paid for the cost of it.
  28. Bus registration fee shall have to be paid in addition to the bus charges at the time of opting transportation as well as at the beginning of each academic year.

Medical Facility & Advisory:

        Students, who require medical attention during school hours, will be sent to the infirmary by teachers. Parents should inform the school if the child is allergic to any medications.

Parent-Teacher Meeting:

                The ‘Parents-Teachers Meeting’ is an opportunity for parents to meet the class and subject teachers of their wards on one to one basis. Parents are expected to participate in these meetings whole heartedly. Parents are welcome to meet the teachers on any working day with prior appointment.

STUDY GUIDELINES FOR PUPILS:

  1. First take up the subject you find most difficult; once you have done this, the rest of your work will be easy.
  2. Do not hesitate to ask your teacher or your companions, things you do not grasp clearly. Never leave difficulties unanswered as this will put you into greater difficulties later.
  3. To make sure that you have understood something, thoroughly use these ‘trick’s:
    1. Pretend that you are explaining the lesson to another; see if you can do well.
    2. Make yourself your own teacher and question yourself and answer honestly (don’t cheat).
  4. Get enough exercise every day; it keeps the mind fresh.
  5. Do not cut down necessary sleep in order to study; it will harm you later on.
  6. Lastly, pray often to the all-wise and all-knowing God to help you make progress in your studies.
  7. Never omit the lesson or home-work assigned; if you do so, it is like missing a train that you can never catch afterwards.
  8. Always revise the work done and make sure that you have understood everything clearly and thoroughly.
  9. If memory work is assigned, learn it overnight and repeat it in the morning.
  10. Always take down in your diary the work that is assigned for the next day.
  11. All home work should be done neatly. Each new home work should be done on fresh page.
  12. As you grow up, make a daily time-table for yourself for your study (the different subjects in order of difficulty, the most difficult one being first, for your rest, recreation etc. In this way you will learn to be a person on regular habits, a most valuable asset in later life.

 

LEAVE RULES:

  1. Leave of absence will be granted only for serious reasons on previous written application from parents or guardians.
  2. In case of absence without leave note, the students on returning to the school must produce the reason of absence certificate from his/her parents or guardian; else a sum of Rs. 100 shall be fined.
  3. If any pupil has been absent, he / she would not enter the class without first obtaining permission from the Director /Principal.
  4. A student returning to the school after contagious or infectious disease should produce a Doctor’s certificate permitting him/ her to attend classes, without causing any danger to other students.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARENTS:

In order to secure all that is best in the education of your child, the maximum co-operation such as given bellow are essential.

  • Looking into the child’s diary daily.
  • Follow up the progress of the child.
  • Creating a congenial studies atmosphere at home.
  • Appreciating and rewarding when the results are good.
  • Timely correction when things go wrong etc. is very necessary.
  • Parents should visit the Director/Principal / teachers regularly in order to keep up a steady progress of the child.

SUPERVISED STUDY AT HOME TO THE PARENTS:

To avoid heavy load of work at a time of the Tests for your child, it is required to:

  1. Provide a fairly convenient place for his/ her study at home.
  2. Make study time-table for him/ her and see that he/she works at least three hours daily.
  3. Supervise all his/her written works at least once in a week.

GUIDELINES FOR THE PARENTS:

  1. Parents are required to co-operate with the school in its attempt to help their children progress by paying attention to their attendance, punctuality and discipline and to take interest in their child’s work.
  2. Parents need to check the school diary daily and note the instruction given. They are also advised to check the bags of their wards to see if there is any circular/notice/invitation etc. has been issued from the school.
  3. To prevent loss of articles, umbrellas, raincoats, Tiffin carriers, etc. should be marked with name of the child.
  4. The ward of those parents, who avoid meeting the authorities, when advised to do so, may not be allowed to attend the class.
  5. Parents are requested to read and explain the school rules to their wards.
  6. In the event of the pupil missing his/her assessment due to his/her absence from the school, there shall be no re-assessment for the pupil.
  7. Parents or guardians are not allowed to see their ward(s) or interview teacher(s) during class hours.
  8. Reports of Tests are given in separate book, which should be signed by the parents/guardians regularly, and their progress to be followed up.
  9. Pupils may be sent home during school hours for reasons of misbehaviour, lack of compliance with rules or for any serious eventuality.
  10. Children suffering from a contagious or infectious disease will not be permitted to attend school.
  11. If a student goes out of the school premises without a written permission, the management takes no responsibility, except informing the guardians concerned.
  12. School Authority is not responsible for any accident while crossing the road. School Authority is not responsible for the security of a child outside the school premises.
  13. A special attention is given to ensure a high standard of morality and discipline in the school. Parents/Guardians are requested to collaborate with the authority of the school.
  14. Parents’ attention is drawn to the fact that criticism of the school or teacher in the presence of child should be strictly avoided because it causes the students to lose respect for their teachers with the consequent failure to learn from them and retards their progress.
  15. Any communication (request or complaint) made by the parents, should be addressed to the Directoror Principal and not to the teacher.
  16. Parents are requested not to approach the teacher for private tuition for their children. If any pupil is found guilty of doing so then a strict action will be taken against both the parties.
  17. If any kind of help is required then the parents are requested to get in touch with the Director/Principal and assistance may be considered as per the convenience of the school or the teacher.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR PUPILS:

  1. Pupils are expected to regularly prepare their lessons & do their home works. Those who have not done their home works shall not be allowed to sit in the class.
  2. It is obligatory to wear the uniform prescribed by the school. Those who are not correctly dressed in conformity with the regulation of the school shall not be admitted to the class.
  3. 85% attendance is compulsory for every pupil failing which he/she may not be eligible for promotion if applicable. The percentage may be relaxed on medical grounds or any other unavoidable emergency circumstances.
  4. A student absenting himself/herself from school for (two weeks) 14 consecutive days without permission will be marked “Left”, if he/she is to be readmitted it will be treated as new candidate needing re-admission. If the absence is due to sickness or other grave reasons, the school authorities must be notified in writing within three days of absence.
  5. Absence without leave after vacation renders the students to a fine of Rs. 50/- on re-opening day and Rs. 10/- on subsequent days, after one week name will be struck off the rolls.
  6. Habitual idleness, irregular attendance, disobedience, bad conduct or sickness liable to be injurious to other students is sufficient reason for dismissal.
  7. Students who have been absent from class must have the reason for their absence briefly noted in their school calendar. Reason of private nature may be intimated by a letter.
  8. No child is allowed to leave the school premises except on the strength of a letter of authorization from his/her Parents/Guardian.
  9. Any damage done in class, in the premises or outside will have to be made good by the pupils or the Parents/Guardian concerned.
  10. To acquired a greater facility in the study of English, “ENGLISH IS THE ONLY

LANGUAGE SPOKEN IN THE SCHOOL PREMISSES.”

  1. Children should bring dry Tiffin and it should be taken outside the class room.
  2. Every child attending school is obliged to take part in all the Co-curricular activities of the school as part of their Civil Training and no one will be excused except for valid reason.
  3. Costly ornaments and jewellery are not allowed in the school. Pupils are not allowed to keep long nails/apply nail polish/mehendi/Tattoos under any circumstances.
  4. Politeness and courtesy of speech and conduct as well as cleanliness of dress and person will be inculcated and exacted.
  5. Pupils are not permitted to bring weapons like knives/sharp implements, Mobile Phones, electronic gadget, unauthorized CDs, cameras, fancy watches, gold ornaments and other valuable goods to the school. Once it is seized it will not be returned.
  6. No child can stay alone in a rented house.
  7. Punctually is must and every child should always be on time to the school 10 minutes before the bell.
  8. School authority has to cooperate with the public administration. So it is compulsory for every child to take part in National celebrations like Independence Day and Republic Day parade etc.
  9. Child staying in the private hostels will not be allowed to leave the school without the hostel warden concerned.
  10. Continual absence without proper uniforms, irregular attendance, disobedience and misconduct which lower the moral conduct of the school justified dismissal of a student.
  11. Any student who forges or tempers with the marks given in the Progress Report Card is subject to dismissal or expulsion.
  12. As it is compulsory for all students to attend school on the re-opening day after each vacation. It is also mandatory to attend on the last day before the end of a semester or beginning of a vacation, otherwise a strict action will be taken by the school authority.
  13. The school reserves the right to compel the parents to withdraw their children if their children’s progress in studies is unsatisfactory or their attendance is irregular or their conduct is harmful to other children. A fee of Rs. 100/- will be charged for T.C. No T.C. shall be issued until all the dues are cleared.

LIBRARY RULES:

          The library is for the general use of all the students of the school. All students are asked to make the best use of the given opportunity and to develop knowledge and aptitude. The students must make use of the given days for getting access to the library. The days are mentioned in the timetable to access or to read in the library.

Timing: As per the scheduled class time-table.

Note: Library shall remain closed on Saturdays.                                                

  1. Perfect silence shall be observed inside the library. Those who are violating this shall be restricted access to the library.
  2. Students are asked to check the books very carefully when issued. If a page is missing or torn, please bring it to the notice of the librarian immediately. Later no claim will be accepted.
  3. Each student may borrow one book and will be allowed to keep it for a week.
  4. All books shall be returned on due date.
  5. All books to be returned to the library should be brought in by the borrower himself/herself. Sub lending of books is forbidden. The student who sub lends the book, as well as the student who borrows it, will be fined.
  6. If the book is lost, the student shall have to pay double the amount it costs.
  7. If the book is spoiled or torn, the student shall be fined.
  8. The librarian will not be responsible for the non-availability of the books of your choice.
  9. Books taken are to be handled carefully.
